Problem
A 7974 rejection has occurred with message DateFirstAvailable Must be after start of Current Tax Year for a submission including a P46(Car) form.
Resolution
This rejection relates to the information on the car working sheet, specifically the date the car was first available. Ordinarily the deadline for efiling P46 car forms is 28 days after the quarter end. The one exception to this is the quarter ending 5th April. Electronic submissions for cars with a start date before the new tax year must be made by 5th April, prior to HMRC updating their systems for the new tax year on 6th April. Paper submissions may still be made until 3rd May. For more information please see https://www.gov.uk/tell-hmrc-company-car.
In order to proceed with the P11D submission, please do the following:
1. Remove FBI Status
2. Select the employee(s) with the P46(Car) forms prepared
3. View the relevant Car working sheet(s)
4. Click the P46(Car) button
5. Click Remove P46 from FBI button
6. Click Save
