Problem
User is getting error 8387 - There is an entry in [CGT9]. Please complete [CGT3 transmitting tax return 2019. Looking at the CGT pages if box 9 is populated box 3 number of disposals won't be populated.
Resolution
This issue is a DEFECT in the software and should be fixed in Version 20.2.0, which is due to be released end of July/ beginning of August 2020 (subject to change).
If you need to electronically submit this Personal Tax return, please do the following workaround to resolve this issue: –
- Go to Personal Tax for this client
- Go to Edit in the top left-hand corner
- Highlight Capital assets | Go into the asset | Land and property | Untick Non-resident CGT
- Go into the disposal | Tick Real time transactions – enter reference number and the tax on the gain already charged – Click update
- Then go to Edit in the top left-hand corner | Capital assets | Edit/ Losses and other info in
- Tick additional info and state any supporting notes of why this was done.
- Once these steps are completed, it will populate box 3 number of disposals and boxes 4,5 and 6. Whereas, before it was only populating boxes 9.
