Problem

CJRS file format changed for claims for 100 employees or more.

Resolution

If you’re claiming on or after 1 July 2020 for 100 or more employees, the template used for submitting a claim has been updated. Employers must now include if an employee has returned from statutory leave before being put on furlough.

The template used by your payroll software will not include this new field, as such, you will need to add this manually after you have created the export.

When you have created the export, open it and add, as the final column, Statutory Leave Returner?. Then complete this details, as appropriate, for the employee on your claim.

Remember, you only need to add the field if your claim is for 100 employee or more.

Full list of details to be inclulded on CJRS claims:

  • full name
  • National Insurance number (or payroll reference number if you do not have this)
  • payroll reference number (sometimes called a pay identify or staff number)
  • furlough start and end date (using the format DD/MM/YYYY)
  • full amount claimed (pounds and pence)
  • normal hours (using decimals, for example 7.5)
  • actual hours worked (using decimals)
  • furloughed hours (using decimals)
  • if they have returned from statutory leave and you then put them on furlough (New field for claims of 100 employees or more)
