Upcoming technical changes for IRIS 24.1

Microsoft Runtime Updates
To support the latest security updates provided by Microsoft, please ensure you’re using the latest version of Microsoft Visual C++ runtime prior to installing the Spring 2024 update we plan to release in April.
Please download and install the following on each machine that uses IRIS Accountancy Suite.
Note: If you are unsure on this process, then please speak to your IT so they can apply this for you.
Windows Server 2012/2012R2 Compatibility
Microsoft ended their extended support for Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2012R2 in October 2023.
This means, as of April 2024, while your IRIS product may continue to work using Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2012R2, our teams will no longer test using these platforms and will be unable to offer support to customers using them.
In addition, HMRC are updating their authentication process in May 2024 which will affect your ability to retrieve client information direct from HMRC if you are still using Windows Server 2012.

IRIS Hosted Customers
If you are an IRIS Hosting customer, you won’t need to worry about these changes as this will be managed by the IRIS Hosting support teams.
