2024 Technology Innovation of the Year Winner
This year, at the UK IT Industry Awards, IRIS Software Group won the 2024 ‘Technology Innovation of the Year’ category for its innovative payroll solution, Troncmasters By IRIS (Troncmasters). Designed to support hospitality organisations in accurately and fairly managing tip distribution, Troncmasters by IRIS aligns with the Royal Assent’s Employment Act Allocation of Tips Bill, which recently went into effect in October 2024. Today’s achievement follows Troncmasters’ previous win at the 2024 Global Payroll Association Awards, where it was honoured with the ‘Payroll Innovation Award.’
As of April 2024, Troncmasters serves 360 clients and processes £3.5 million in tips monthly. By enabling hospitality tips to be processed via PAYE free of National Insurance Contributions, Troncmasters saves employees an average of £8 per £100 of tips and saves employers £13.80. This has resulted in an impressive £8.1 million in National Insurance savings for employees and employers from May 2023 to April 2024.
Ben Houghton, VP of Engineering, at IRIS Software Group, said: “We are incredibly proud to be recognised once again at the BCS UK IT Industry Awards. Today’s win is not only a testament to our team’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions that truly make a difference, but also our ongoing dedication to helping our customers look ahead to the future with certainty with compliant, cloud-native products and solutions.”
