You must complete your declaration with The Pensions Regulator up to five calendar months from your staging date.

1. Completing a declaration is the legal requirement to submit information to the regulator about how you complied with your employer duties. If don’t do it in time, could be fined.
2. They will need to know The number of eligible jobholders automatically enrolled with effect from staging date (or the last day of the postponement period(s)) – so they need IRIS Payroll up and running
3. The deadline for completing your declaration of compliance is five calendar months from staging date.
4. If postponed automatic enrolment for any staff, mustn’t submit declaration until after the postponement period has ended. This could mean there’s very little time between the end of the postponement period and declaration deadline, which is why it’s a good idea to fill in details as you get them.
5. You must provide certain information to the regulator about how you’ve complied with the automatic enrolment duties, such as how many people you’ve automatically enrolled and into which pension scheme(s).
6. You must complete your declaration of compliance even if you don’t have anyone to automatically enrol.
7. Declaration is mandatory and you could get fined if you don’t do it in time.
8. Declaration provides a snapshot of your workforce on your staging date and you’ll need to account for each person.
9. You can complete your declaration by answering questions and providing details online. You should start filling in your details as soon as you can.
