Ahead of Pulse LIVE Birmingham, a UK networking and exhibition event for GMC-registered GPs and trainees, we sat down with IRIS GP’s product manager, Stacey Groom, to talk about the upcoming plans for IRIS GP and how we’re innovating to make sure our customers stay ahead of the curve.
Are you looking forward to Pulse LIVE?
Definitely! We’ve got plenty of exciting updates and, as the UK’s leading payroll provider to GPs, we’re keen to get amongst our customers and find out what issues they need help with.
This year, we’re also excited to further expand on our GP offering with the launch of the KashFlow Healthcare Suite. This will bring cloud-based Payroll, Bookkeeping and HR to the UK’s small GP practitioners in one easy to use software suite. It’s exciting stuff!
Can you tell us more about the KashFlow Healthcare Suite?
With the KashFlow Healthcare Suite, we’re offering our GP customers a cloud software solution that can scale to take into account the size of their specific practice, regardless of how big or small it is.
KashFlow Payroll has been around for a few years now, though we’re really tailoring this to GPs to make sure they’re getting everything they need. We’re adding GP functionality so that the software covers everything from NHS Pensions to the Whitley Council / Agenda for Change, without any unnecessary jargon or the clutter of redundant features that some software gets bogged down by.
What have we done to help KashFlow stand out as an option for GPs?
One of the main advantages of the KashFlow Healthcare Suite is that it’s one of the only cloud software solutions available for GPs. This means our customers will benefit from the added security and the other great benefits of using cloud software.
As the software is based on KashFlow Payroll, it’s already been tried and tested so we know it works the way it should. GPs will be able to manage their payroll in a couple of clicks, and significantly cut down on the time they spend managing their payroll without sacrificing anything when it comes to accuracy and efficiency.
Another standout feature is that KashFlow Payroll GP doesn’t have an employee cap, which means you can add as many employees as you want. We think this is a particularly useful feature for merging practices, as you can simply continue to add employees to the one payroll rather than having to transfer your data every time you reach a limit and need to upgrade.
For those who don’t know, can you tell us a bit more about cloud software?
Cloud software is web-based rather than file or drive based. It’s like online banking: you don’t have to download anything to access your data, you just log in from any device and it’s all there.
It’s a really streamlined way of working. You don’t have to install or maintain any software as all the updates are done by your provider. For GPs in particular, this is useful in light of the NHS’s locked down security measures – which have made updates on existing software solutions more difficult.
When you’re using cloud software, you’re working from one remote version of the data. This means that your amends automatically sync and you’re always accessing the most up-to-date version of your files. This is particularly useful if you’re logging in from multiple practices or different devices.
And as there’s one version of the data and real-time reporting, you can have multiple people work on the payroll (one representative from each practice, for example) and everything is saved in one place so you’re not working on different version of a document that then needs syncing later down the line.
KashFlow in particular offer the same level of security as internet banking, which includes full encryption for data in transit and a firewalled server network. And as your data is stored remotely, it’s kept safe from the theft or damage of your devices.
When will the KashFlow Healthcare Suite be available?
As this is brand new functionality, we’ll be launching KashFlow Payroll GP with a Beta test to ensure it ticks every box our customers need it to.
This test will be starting by the end of July, and we’re keen to have plenty of feedback so feel free to sign up if you want to try the full system free of charge.
Those looking to move over will be able to do so for the duration of their existing GP licence. We’ll also be providing some free access to any new customers to ensure they have time to really get to know the software and make sure it’s the right fit for their practice.
The KashFlow Healthcare Suite launches in beta test at the end of July 2018.
IRIS will be attending Pulse LIVE Birmingham on June 19th 2018 – feel free to say hi and come to us with any questions you might have.
