Problem

When trying to send RTI submissions (FPS,EPS, EYU) to HMRC they are rejected with the error:

501 - Not Found

Resolution

The issue is likely your computers security setup.

The following addresses should be whitelisted/excluded from AV software, firewalls, etc. 

  • https://transaction-engine.tax.service.gov.uk

Specifically, in IRIS software we communicate to the addresses:

  • https://transaction-engine.tax.service.gov.uk/poll
  • https://transaction-engine.tax.service.gov.uk/submission

Please refer to your IT support/security software provider for assistance configuring security settings.

Additionally, to ensure you continue to receive confirmation emails from HMRC when you send your submissions, add the following addresses to your email whitelist / safe list / not spam:

  • gateway.confirmation@gateway.gov.uk
  • no.reply@confirmation.tax.service.gov.uk
