Introduction
A stop watch is a feature in Timesheets that allows you to accurately calculate the time that has been spent on a particular process. For example if you were on the phone to a client, and wanted to calculate exactly how long you have been on the phone with the client. You would open your timesheet, enter the client and job details, and click on the stop watch to activate it. Once you have finished the call, click on the stopwatch again to deactivate it. IRIS will then calculate the time and place it into the relevant cell in the Timesheet.
How to access the stop watch
To access the stop watch,
- Click on IRIS Time from the IRIS Main Menu.
- Click on Post WIP | Timesheets
- Enter a Staff Members ID (or click on the spy glass to select it)
- Highlight the Timesheet and click on the Reopen button
- The Stop watch should appear
Rules
To view the Stop watch on the Timesheets you have to
Ensure you are using Grid Timesheet screens
- Log on to Time Ledger from the IRIS Main Menu
- Click on Options | My preferences
- Select “Use Grid Timesheets screen” radio button
Ensure that you are working on a Timesheet that has today as a day on the timesheet. For example, today’s date is 01/01/09 and the timesheet that you have reopened is dated between 31/12/09 and 04/01/09. This would then display the stopwatch on your timesheet.
