Problem
Users of IRIS Docs experience difficulties when trying to update the IRIS Software. This occurs because the update process requires unique access to the database which it cannot obtain due to the IRIS Docs processes being connected.
Resolution
You are required to stop the IRIS Docs services prior to running an update of IRIS. Following the steps below will help with this.
Click Start and in the Search programs and files box enter services.msc.
From the list locate each of the services listed below, right click and then choose Stop.
- “INVU V6 Business Engine”
- “INVU V6 Data Hub”
- “INVU V6 Indexing Engine”
- “INVU V6 Processing Engine”
- “INVU V6 Search Engine”
- “INVU V6 Secure Access Server”
- “INVU V6 Thumbnail Generator”
- “IRIS OpenDocs Fixed Lists Service”
- “INVU.EC2.Services.ECM2.WindowsHost.exe”
Once the update is complete, locate each of the services, right click and then choose Start
