Resolution
This error is coming from HMRC when you are trying to submit an amended return- so contact HMRC support and ask to speak to a senior and quote Error Code: 3001 1610.
They will need to remove/void the original return on their side.
Once they have confirmed to you that they have voided the original return then go back into Business Tax, regenerate the electronic Tax return and submit the return as an original return not as amended return.
- Go to Reports in the top left-hand corner
- Electronic Tax return
- Select New and Live. Click OK. Close the reports or save them
- Go to Reports in the top left-hand corner and Transmit Internet Return
- Highlight the NEW return and Transmit
- If you again get the 3001 1610 then HMRC may not have voided the return from their systems and you need to contact them again.
