Problem
If a tax return was not submitted through the PTP software, is it possible for an amended tax return to be filed online through the software?
Resolution
It is possible, however amendments made more than 12 months after the online filing deadline for that tax year should be submitted on paper.
Once the tax return is completed on PTP, select the FBI icon.
Set the Year of Submission to the required tax year. By default the current year will be shown.
Tick the Send box located to the left of the required client to access the FBI Attachments screen
It is essential that the tick box for an Amended return is ticked at the top right hand corner as this is what tells HMRC that the return is amended rather than original.
Click the OK button to proceed with the FBI process as normal.
