Resolution

Contents
  • Introduction
  • Setup your standard job types
  • Press the bridge services button Introduction The bridge services button may be used as a quick way to setup services on clients in bulk. For example, if you have 300 people registered in Accounts Production then pressing the bridge services button will assign each client an Accounts service. Tip: The bridge services button is often used when a practice first starts with practice management and has already been using other IRIS products (such as Personal Tax or Accounts Production). Once you have run this process once, when you create a new client you may want to allocate a service at the point of creating a client. See KB 6679 What is the ‘Take on new client’ standard job type for? Setup your standard job types The ‘Bridge Services’ button is only applicable/available to Jobs linked to the Standard System Job Types To setup your standard system job types:
  • Open IRIS Main Menu and click on IRIS Practice Management. Log in as Master
  • The staff control panel will be displayed
  • Click on Setup | Standard Job Types
  • Allocate a job to one of the standard job types. Press the bridge services button When pressed the system will cross-check the clients registered within a product (eg. Accounts Production) and see whether they have that service (eg. Accounts Production). If they do NOT have that service, then the system will create the service on the client’s service tab.
  • Open IRIS Main Menu and click on IRIS Practice Management, log in as Master
  • The staff control panel will be displayed
  • Click on Launch | Job Planning
  • Enter a service (e.g Accounts) by clicking on the magnifying glass
  • Click on Find
  • You will see the ‘Bridge Services’ button available
  • Click on ‘Bridge Services’
  • A message will be displayed ‘ This operation will create accounts service records for client that have been registered for use within IRIS Accounts Production, where that are not already present. Are you sure you wish to continue?’
  • Click ‘Yes’. The service for ‘Accounts’ will be created for those clients, who do not have so. Tip: It is recommended that you take a backup before commencing this process. Note: If the service already exists on a client then system will not change the database.
