Gillespie & Anderson

Gillespie & Anderson is a long-established independent firm of chartered accountants and registered auditors, tracing its roots back to the early 1920s. The firm has been based at the same central Glasgow address throughout its life, providing stability which has been a contributing factor in its long-standing client relationships. Originally established by two brothers-in-law, today the firm has four partners and nine staff. The Gillespie & Anderson team provides the full range of accountancy and tax skills to small and medium-sized businesses.

The firm has been a customer of IRIS for over twenty years, using IRIS Accountancy Suite products such as Accounts Production, Business Tax and Personal Tax, and more recently has also implemented the IRIS Docs electronic document management software. Partner Alastair Stewart explains why the firm moved to an IRIS OpenHosting solution in late 2011, “There were two main factors: the expense of replacing our server, which was nearing the end of its shelf-life, and the increasing amounts of time we were spending on IT tasks such as installing software updates.”
