While the temperature may be dropping, things are certainly heating up in Staffology Payroll.

Our team have been hard at work on Staffology Payroll, upgrading and updating the functionality.

Here we've covered some of the exciting changes and detailed what they mean for you.

Advanced variance reporting

The first exciting update we want to discuss is the advanced variance reporting, which enables you to compare pay periods with each other.

Here, you select the pay periods that you'd like to compare and the new feature will export some core fields (tax, National Insurance, gross pay, net pay etc.), the variances and the values you had across the selected periods.

You can also select pay codes you'd like to compare the variance on; for example, you could compare the overtime paid between different months.

This new functionality enables you to easily spot variance and essentially check for errors or increases in costs.

EPS Automation

The next feature we want to highlight is EPS automation.

Firstly, to turn on this feature, simply head to settings, click payroll automation and then select auto-submit EPS.

Once enabled, this new feature will automatically submit the EPS when the pay route is finalised.

The EPS will automatically submit and include if there are any items to recover, such as statutory pay, apprenticeship levy and non-payment flags.

There is some great guidance in the help centre, which we recommend you read before enabling this feature - read the guidance here.

Importing employee leave

The last update we will discuss in this blog is the option to import employee leave.

With this new feature, you can import a spreadsheet with leave entries.

Once imported, the leave will instantly be shown (no need to restart the system!), automatically showing the information and updating your existing pay run.

To do this, go to the employee section in Staffology Payroll, select import and here you will now find a new tab for leave, where you can upload your document.

For more information, here you can find another help centre document, which outlines this feature in greater detail and offers more guidance.
