Aquest takes back control with IRIS Financials and IRIS Cascade HRi
A recruitment company working with multinational corporations, SME’s, and public sector clients, Aquest needed financial and HR software that suited its size. Chief Financial Officer, Adam Blake and HR Systems Tech Analyst, Vikki Chesterman spoke to us about their experience with IRIS Financials and IRIS Cascade HRi.

Flexibility and control which evolve with Aquest
Adam describes the system they used before IRIS Financials as “too big, too complicated, and too rigid,” but everything changed with the introduction of IRIS Financials. Adam tells us, “Life is definitely better with IRIS Financials – it’s a better bit of software, and we can do more with it, which has given us more control over our processes and improved the speed in which we can get things done.”
That flexibility is extended with Cascade HRi as Vikki tells us, “We used another HR system previously and we weren’t able to make the same level of changes that we can on Cascade. We’re now able to make tweaks to our workflows and, as we are evolving, have the power to create new workflows or amend them.”

Intuitive software that works around the business
With around 700 employees, it was imperative that the team had both a financial system, and a HR system in place that could manage their every need. Adam says “The previous system we used would have worked much better for a larger organisation, but for our size, having the ability to tweak it so that it works for us has made such a difference. I would definitely recommend both Financials and Cascade to organisations of our size.”
Adam continues, “What was good about bringing IRIS Financials in is that we were able to amend the structure of the software and work with the development teams on building bespoke reports and bespoke processes to allow us to actually have a system that’s a bit more flexible and dynamic for an organisation of our size.”
Vicki adds, “The great thing about Cascade is how intuitive it is, and we’ve had that feedback from our teams. The previous software we used was pretty clunky, and hard to navigate, but everybody seems really happy with Cascade. If there’s a need for us to amend or change a process, Cascade allows us to do it.”
A two day job reduced to one hour each month
One aspect of IRIS Financials that Aquest reaps the benefits of is the Data Transformation Tool (DTT). Adam tells us, “The DTT has allowed us to transfer data with no manual effort from our separate billing, expenses, and payroll systems (Cascade) weekly. This has saved so many man-hours in data manipulation and importing. Particularly on the posting of our corporate payroll journal which has gone from a two-day job to one hour per month.”
Both IRIS Financials and Cascade HRi have cut administration tasks in half and given the team back the control to run their HR and finance systems as they should be run. Adam tells us, “I would 100% recommend IRIS Financials and IRIS Cascade HRi. Both systems have been designed with usability in mind and it is so easy for us to navigate around the software. This meant training the teams was an easy process, and staff could get up and running with these systems pretty much straight away.”
