FLB Accountants migrates from Earnie to Staffology Payroll

Frustrations of the past
FLB had been users of IRIS Earnie for years until they migrated to Staffology Payroll earlier this year. Senior Payroll Executive, Wacika Sari, tells us, “Earnie had all the functionality, but we found it quite clunky.” Several limitations of Earnie became too irksome for FLB’s payroll team, as Wacika tells us, “Using Earnie was a challenge for me, it required a lot of manual work.”
FLB’s Payroll Manager, Pam Payne, expressed similar notions, telling us that Earnie was no longer the right system for them. She says, “Earnie was quite good in its time, but we were ready for something new.” FLB required a modern solution that evolved with their organisation, and Pam told us that they were keen to make sure that their next payroll solution was cloud-based.

A learning curve
When FLB first moved to Staffology, things didn’t go as smoothly as they’d hoped. The initial migration in August 2023 was a challenging experience. However, Pam tells us “It was a good experience that both sides learned from.” The team at IRIS listened to customer feedback, and what transformed this migration was the bespoke data migration tool which helped to do the heavy lifting for IRIS customers.
“The migration tool that the team created saved us so much time,” Wacika tells us. “It removed the burden of administrative tasks involved in the migration journey.”
After the initial struggle with the migration to Staffology Payroll, Pam tells us their Account Manager, Paul “rescued us” and “We haven’t looked back since then.”
“I do love Staffology and after all these years working in payroll, I can honestly say it ticks most of my boxes.”

Fast forward to today, and FLB has found Staffology Payroll a game-changer. The software’s automation and ease of use have drastically improved their day-to-day workflows.
Pam tells us her favourite features of Staffology Payroll, “I just love all the automation.” Specifically, the improvement in the process of importing from Full Payment Submission (FPS): “I absolutely love the FPS feature, we used to work this at the end of the month and it was a day between the two of us – now we’ve got that time back!”
