Problem
The problem is caused by a problem with a database holding the messages from HMRC.
Resolution
Open your payroll directory (usually C:\payroll)
Rename the file DPSMessages.dat to DPSMessages.OLD
Open IRIS GP Payroll and check your messages.
You should be able to check any new messages.
Please note: The system will no longer show any previous messages. You will need to click on Refresh List and select the date you want to restore.
This depends on the information held on HMRC systems.
