When trying to restore an IRIS SQL Database using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (or Management Studio Express) the following message can be shown : Restore failed for server 'XXXXX'. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Express.Smo) Additional Information: An exception occured while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch. (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo) The file or filegroup "IRIS_log" cannot be selected for this operation. RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 3219)

Resolution

NOTE : This kind of message can be caused because an incorrect restore function is being used The solution is to choose RESTORE->DATABASE instead of restore->File or Filegroup.
