Problem
What context types are available in AutoMail?
Resolution
On every AutoMail template, there is a property which will determine the “context type” being used by the letter. The context type determines
- Which type of client a letter can be sent to
- The tags available for the template
For example, Individual (Personal Tax) context type would be used for personal clients with Tax information displayed in the templates. The context type of a template determines which tags from the IRIS database should be available for selection in the Tag selection screen. For example, Personal Tax context type includes some Tax tags.
Contect Types Available
Below is a list of Context types and what they are used for:
- Client: – A general context type, this should be used when a letter is intended to be sent to any type of client. Both business and personal details are available to insert into the letter
- Business: – This context type is used when a letter is strictly intended for Business clients only. Business information and contact details are available to insert into the letter.
- Individual: – This context type is used when a letter is strictly intended for Personal clients. Personal information is available to insert into the letter.
- Accounts:– This context type is used when the letter is intended for business clients. You would need to set up the Accounting period end dates on the client. When this context type is used, it allows you to add accounts tags such as the current and the next accounting periods.
- Individual (Personal Tax): – This context type is used when a letter is strictly intended for Personal clients. Personal Tax information can be entered onto template such as liabilities and payments on account.
- Corporation Tax: – This context type is used when a letter is intended for Corporate Clients.
- Individual (Sole trader Personal Tax):– This context type is used to include Personal tax details for a Sole Trader.
- Sole Trade (SoleTrader Personal Tax): – This context type is used to include Business tax details for a Sole Trader.
- Partnership Tax: – This context type is used when a letter is strictly intended for Partnerships.
- Trust Tax: – This context type is used when a letter is strictly intended for Trust Clients.
- Tax (Employment): – This context type is used when a letter contains PAYE information.
NOTE: The To/From/About settings will need to contain Employer and Employee rather than Client. This template can only be generated by using P11D. For further information on P11D Letters being generated through AutoMail please refer to KB IAS-11961
- Client and Bank: – This context type is used to create bank letters which includes bank account information. For further instalation on How to print Bank letters in AutoMail please refer to KB IAS-11956.
- (Common Tags Only): – A context type with Common Tags Only post-scripted will exclude most of the Business and Individual tag folders and only allow selection from the Common folder, in addition to the tags specific to the area selected.
