Problem
IRIS Business Tax- Invalid IXBRL Computation, Input is not a valid base-64 string
Resolution
This issue is a DEFECT in the software IRIS Version 23.3 and will be fixed in Version 24.1.0, which is due to be released the first week of April 2024. Please see the workaround below:
1.Go to Business Tax, load the client and relevant period
2. Go to Edit in the top left hand corner
3. Go to Notes
4. Remove any special characters, for example; the ‘dash’ symbol. (Please see image below):
Another this workaround (If an urgent submission and you do not want to wait for a fix or apply the workaround above): Load the client and relevant period: Data Entry, Summary – Computations- Untick ‘for return period’ and select PDF option from the pull down list. Then save the Tax comp from BT as a PDF. Generate the CT600 and use the very bottom left Optional Attachments: ‘Select External File’ and click the Magnifying glass to find the PDF file and attach it. Now click OK to generate it and submit.
