Problem
Once a Job Type has been created how is this created/linked to the clients on the database and is there a quick way of doing this?
Resolution
Creating new Time ledger jobs for clients can be achieved in several different screens and the most common are below:
Through the timesheet
When in a current timesheet select the client i.d. and then click on the Job spyglass. If the job does not exist on the client you can click on the New button and follow the on screen options.
Through the timesheet – quick way
Similar to the above where, in a current timesheet, select the client i.d. In the Job box enter the identifier of the job needed (plus any additional identification is applicable). If the job does not yet exist on the client the system will prompt you to ensure you wish the job to be created.
The client WIP tab.
When viewing the client maintenance screens the WIP tab can be used to enter new jobs. On the WIP tab click on Jobs | Add and enter the details relating to the job and finally click on Insert.
Posting an invoice
An invoice can be raised against a job that does not yet exist on the client. The details of the job can be entered or the system will prompt for a confirmation on the job being created.
