Problem
When you configure your antivirus software settings, make sure that you exclude the following files or directories (as applicable) from virus scanning. Doing this improves the performance of the files and helps make sure that the files are not locked when the SQL Server service must use them.
Resolution
As well as excluding the IRIS program folder from being scanned it is also neccesary to exclude the following SQL Processes from virus scanning C:ProgramFilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL10_50.\MSSQL\Binn\SQLServr.exe
Files to exclude from virus scanning C:ProgramFilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL10_50.\MSSQL\DATAIRIS.mdf
Files to exclude from virus scanning C:ProgramFilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL10_50.\MSSQL\DATA\IRIS.ldf
