Problem
Clients are receiving an Internet Filing Validation Warning stating as follows:- Due to an issue with their systems, HMRC are not correctly calculating the cap on allowable losses where these are losses brought forwrd and used in the yer. This return will need to be filed on paper quoting HMRC Exclusion ID 33.
Resolution
This is not an issue within the IRIS Software but is an issue with the HMRC Servers.
You will need to do the following:-
Go to the HMRC web site and search for unable to file form
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/self-assessment-reasonable-excuse-for-not-filing-return-online
This is a PDF and you will need to download it and fill it in. Question 6 asks the reason and you need to enter HMRC Exclusion Number 33.
Attach it to the form and send it via post to the HMRC.
