Problem

My IRIS seems to be running slowly, what can I do? Unfortunately, slow system performance is usually a product of your environment rather than a problem with IRIS code. Here in support we find that customers with performance problems usually have some site specific problem that is affecting the IRIS application.

Resolution

NOTE : Following the steps below may resolve the performance issues experienced when using IRIS Check your Hardware specifications are up to the IRIS recommended standard, this is available Here. On Server or P2P based systems the IRIS server would be expected to have a higher specification than the other workstations. Exclude the IRIS network drive from your Anti Virus Program on the server and work stations. Ensure the firewall is set up correctly to allow inbound and outbound connections to SQL Server to and from the workstations NOTE : This can vary depending on other applications installed and concurrent user connections, so is it not possible for IRIS to specify what these should be. Some users run IRIS over third party software such as Citrix or Terminal Services, test IRIS outside of the Citrix\Terminal Services environment? Check other installed applications are running at the speed you would expect There may be other applications that may cause a conflict such as document management software, try stopping the applications or services and testing IRIS again.
