Problem
I have setup an accounting period as annual and made postings instead of Interim. IRIS will not allow both an Annual AND Interim Period with the same date to be created at the same time. How can I change the the Annual Accounting Period to Interim?
Resolution
An Annual Period can NOT be changed to Interim. A new date needs to be created as ‘Interim’ and re-assigned to the posting entry before the Annual date is deleted.
First take an Extract of the client via Client | Extract
1. Select Edit | Account Period End Dates | Select the date | Change | Amend date to 1 day before the actual date | Ok
( Please ensure that the Enter extended | shortened period details for Company Secretarial box is not ticked).
2. Select Add | Tick box to refer to Interim Reporting | Enter Date | OK | Close
3. Go to Posting | Post File Maintenance | Entries – select the entry |Change – Selected the interim date and attach to posting entry
4. Go to Edit | Account Period End Dates – Select the annual date and delete
