Problem
It has been reported that when the Company Secretarial/Company Formation module is launched, users get the following error: Error Starting IRIS Email monitor Application Unable to start email monitoring application. Please check the application logs in system maintenance for details.
Resolution
This error occurs where the E-File Scanner and Email Monitor attempt to open.
As we no longer use the email monitor application settings, the settings will need to be amended within System maintenance.
1. From the SERVER machine, Double click on the IRIS icon to launch the IRIS Main Menu
2. Log into System Maintenance as MASTER
3. Select Utilities | Email Links – The IRIS Communication Management Configuration screen will appear.
4. Ensure Modify existing comms sub system configuration is enabled – Select Next | Next | Select ‘No incoming email monitoring’ | Finish | Ok to the message.
5. Re-open Company Secretarial/Formation, the error should no longer appear.
If the error persists please contact Iris support for further guidance.
