Article Name

IRIS Home Menu / PT and VAT Filer: Not possible to retrieve HMRC data- no internet connection was detected

Created Date

Product

IRIS Personal Tax, IRIS VAT Filer

Problem

IRIS Home Menu or PT, VAT Filer: Not possible to retrieve HMRC data- no internet connection was detected

Resolution

When you load a client or all clients for the PT, VAT Filer etc and this error appears:

image 1 | IRIS Home Menu / PT and VAT Filer: Not possible to retrieve HMRC data- no internet connection was detected

When submitting you may get this in PT:

This means there is a internet connection issue in your pc, environment or server – you need to check all internet connections. This is because the Home page, PT Tax (If HMRC Data retrieval is switched on) and VAT needs constant access to the internet to operate.

This may affect a specific pc or all pcs – ask all users to try on other pcs to check as well so you can tell how many are affected.

Also load the IRIS accountancy main menu– if you get this message: then again there is a internet issue on your pc, environment or server.

However if you still have access to the internet eg using Chrome and can access other websites- then the online disconnection is only specifically linked to the IRIS program and where it is saved in your environment. Your IT team needs to look into this if its affecting a specific PC or all PCs/Workstations.
