It has been reported that sometimes when trying to access the SQL version of Tax Expense (v16.1 or higher) users are getting the following error:
The Following Exception Occurred:
The system cannot find the file specified
Resolution
It has been identified that in a small number of cases the SQL Services do not start automatically and it is therefore necessary to start these services manually.
Following the steps below should assist with the starting of the SQL Services manually.
- Press your ‘Windows’ Key and then ‘R’ Key
- Type services.msc and press Enter
- From the list locate SQL Server (PTPPLATFORM)
NOTE: SQL Server (PTPPLATFORM) is the default instance installed by PTP Taxexpense Software. In some cases this name maybe different.
- Right Click SQL Server (PTPPLATFORM) and click Start The service status should now show Started
Following the steps below should assist with the starting of the SQL Services manually.
