A problem occurs when trying to do a Companies House Data Check e.g. a message appears to say there is a problem obtaining the next Companies House transaction ID.
Resolution
This is most likely the firewall blocking PCSR. The following troubleshooting information will aid resolution.
Companies House data checks:
Companies House data check does not work (unable to get next transaction ID, or some other error message). This may be due to the firewall software blocking internet access to the program file sr_comm.exe – this file needs to be enabled in the firewall.
Companies House Data Check: Uses Port 80
a. Retrieves a transaction ID from https://efch.ngiris.com/counter/CHdatacheckCounter.pl
b. Does a HTTP POST to https://xmlgw.companieshouse.gov.uk/v1-0/xmlgw/Gateway
The e-Filing and Detailed data check:
Uses Port 443
Does a HTTPS POST to https://xmlgw.companieshouse.gov.uk/v1-0/xmlgw/Gateway
New Companies House Data Check: Uses Port 443
Does a HTTPS POST to https://api.companieshouse.gov.uk
