IRIS Personal/Business Tax- Shareholdings, how to add decimal entries?
Resolution
IRIS PT and BT may block shareholding values with decimal entries with a warning (for Example share entry of 1.11).
PT workaround (two options)
- Enter as a whole value share (round up or down) and save. Capital assets, Losses and Other Information, tick additional information and add in the full share entry here. This will show on the CG page.
- Under Shareholdings- Tick ‘UNIT TRUST’ as that will allows a decimal values. We recommend you first contact HMRC Support (if the share is not unit trust) to ask what they would like to show.
BT workaround
- Enter as a whole value share (round up or down) and save. Then go to Edit and Notes and add in the full share entry here.
